Season 1, Episode 7: Action Miniatures: Fast and Furious
Original Air Date—1994

Catch a glimpse inside some realistic miniatures that should still be widely used today. CGI has overstayed its welcome. If CGI were a person, I would give him a valium to deflate his ego and let him know his time will be used when needed, and not as a gimmick to gain interest. Telling CGI that, he overdoses on the valium with a note that reads "I do not want to be a burden any longer, because movies should be about the story. Signed CGI, ps, exclude pixars films because they worry about the story the right way". Special THANK YOU to Slugkiller Steve for sending me the Movie Magic episodes here in which we ALL enjoy.

  • This is awesome to see!! Glad someone revived this series!

  • @DJsStratoArt Thank you for the comment, and watching. This is THE only place on the internet to watch this, correct duration etc, so please share with anyone even remotely interested in FX/film. (all credit goes to of course Discovery Channel, and once again Slugkiller Steve from the UK for sending me this entire season 1 to host!)

  • I miss the days before CGI when things took extreme detail and effort to create, and usually looked more photoreal when completed. Thanks for posting this series!

  • Back then people actually worked on movies making miniatures and animatronics.. Trying to figure out how the fudge they did something was half of the fun of the movie. Not just anyone could go and make great effects, you had to work hard on it. CGI took the fun and work out of it. I hate CGI because of this. Me, as a future movie maker, won't ever want to use computer animation in my movies. CGI just ruins the film imo with laziness and unbelievable effects.

  • Fawn awesome dude....Thx for posting....loved these shows.

  • The Skotak Brothers amazing miniature work on Aliens is still some of the most visceral and convincing to this day.

  • Thanks. Very enjoyable.

  • @MordaciousFilms just wanna say that even today, not everything is done with CGI. there's still a decent amount of good old craftsmanship like miniatures and such. you'd be amazed! and cgi isn't a dehumanized process, it takes skills and talent and can bring pure magic at times
