Just saw this today. The artistic nuances of this movie were amazing, the plot was difficult to understand, but really wasn't that important. I'd recommend this just for the way it was put together. Also, Keira nightly is awesome

Agree. And anyway I believe that the Russian high society did not speak Russian at the time, they spoke in French anyway... so it should be in French not Russian.

I'm so sick of people endlessly hating on this movie, this trailer is actually an awful representation of the film. I thought the film was enchanting I loved it. I have read the book and saw both Garbo and Leigh's performances as well and I love this film. I am a classical movie enthusiast and I agree more often than not elder productions are often better but I thought this film was wonderful. Give it a chance before you scorn it simply because it is new or because you believe it can't compare
