Japan Air Self Defence Force (JASDF) B747-400's 20-1101 and 20-1102 takeoff from Runway 34L for Tokyo.

We were lucky enough to be at the airport on the day Japanese Officials were departing Sydney back to Tokyo. Both 747-400's are in this video featuring the aircraft taxi to and takeoff from 34L.

  • @varcolac5 I can't remember if we went there specifically for these birds or if we were just really lucky! APEC was in 2007, these planes were here to transport Prince Hirohito to Tonga for a coronation ceremony. A SkyTraders A319 VH-VND was used for the trip to Tonga while the 744's remained parked at Sydney :)

  • @AbraxasVideo As always your at the right place at the right time to catch aircraft not often seen at sydney airport.

    PS WAS THIS WHEN APEC FINISHED AFTER IT WAS BEING HOSTED AT SYDNEY
