Once a year, pastry chef Joe Gabriel, of the Pluckemin Inn in Bedminster, gets to rub elbows with the New York fashion elite at the New York Chocolate Show. The three-day event, held this past weekend at Pier 94 in Manhattan, opened with its annual "Chocolate Fashion Show," where designers and pastry chefs join forces to create a "chocolate collection." For the last month and half, Gabriel has been working with New York designer Brandy Lunsford to create a chocolate dress in keeping with the show's superhero theme. Proceeds from the show benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation for breast cancer research.
