@bengiersch I think it has to do with the fact that he is entering a partisan race when the job he had held was nonpartisan. I don't think it would be ethical to continue to hold nonpartisan office while running in a partisan race.

It pains me to see all of these great candidates that I love running for senate in Texas all at the same time. I love Tom Leppert, Michael Williams, and Ted Cruz. I've already committed myself to Ted Cruz, but I would be happy to join the campaign of any of them should they win the nomination.
