i have this exact model and it sucks because it has absolutely no bass at all.

Picked up one today. All I can say it's a fantastic piece of retro-tech. A model ghetto-blaster.

@q3da There is a screw adjustment in the cassette drive belt motor after you open up the back of this to adjust the speed with - take's jeweler's small screwdriver to adjust with - as needed

I just found this radio on ebay..... I had the same one in the mid 80's

had this box as a kid, rebought it at a thrift shop for 2 dollars a while back. burned out alot of heavy metal cassettes on this puppy

I had the same one up to about 10 years ago. Got it brand new in 1981. It worked perfectly had some blemishes but I just randomly threw it away because I didnt use it anymore...I am so sorry i did that now. :-(

thanks, yes the cassette does work. the first song is by the fixx - one thing leads to another. i think i will post another video of the cassette player.

hey i just bought one at the swap meet, looks exactly the same except for the color. mine is model rx-5031 works perfectly and looks real clean love this thing brings back memories. how can you tell the manufacturing date?

sometimes its on the inside where the batterys go
sometimes it will be on the motor for the tape player
