5-29-2011: We hiked up Aiea Ridge, made the cross over via the Ko'olau summit ridge, and descended the Kulana`ahane Trail (Moanalua Valley Trail). Along the way, we passed by the Haiku Hidden Stairs, Halawa Ridge, Red Hill Ridge, and finally descended the northwest side of the Moanalua Saddle. The winds (30mph at times) were gusting constantly and never let up during the entire duration of this 14 hour hike, covering about 17 miles.
We also ran into 2 individuals who were camping out on a peak about halfway between the Aiea Ridge summit and the Hidden Stairs. They ended up packing up camp and tagging along with us.
