Janet Napolitano, Dept of Homeland Security, Walmart and the Government Wants You to Look Out For the Terrorists

In the video, Janet Napolitano explains that concerned shoppers should report terror suspects to a Walmart manager. And just in case you're wondering, this is real.

Here's what the Department of Homeland Security posted to their website:

They are calling it the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign—originally implemented by New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority and funded, in part, by $13 million from DHS'

Transit Security Grant Program—is a simple and effective program to engage the public and key frontline employees to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities."

Homeland Security Teams with Walmart in Expansion of 'See Something, Say Something' Campaign

Yesterday in a conference call with reporters, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the expansion of the recent campaign, "If You See Something, Say Something" to hundreds of Walmart stores across the country.

The campaign, which was first started in New York City, is designed to elevate awareness among the public to report possible suspicious activity to law enforcement.

Napolitano recently taped a PSA that will play in Walmart stores that have video displays in the checkout lanes.

The video is expected to be shown in about 530 Walmart stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Wyoming.

In recent months, Napolitano has recorded similar PSAs for use on mass transit in Washington, D.C.

Homeland Security has also briefed the hotel industry on the awareness campaign as the heightened threat environment continues.

Following the Mumbai, India attacks in 2008, Homeland Security began to raise security awareness regarding terrorist interest in targeting luxury hotels.

Maybe the next step will be for them to TSA scan you when you come and go -at Walmart Stores, hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, malls, movie theaters, etc. etc...

  • Never shop at Walmart again, this is a joke, what the hell is anyone going to be looking for, this is not the USSR, or is it now?

  • @69coquito I was thinking this video was a subtle way of telling us that shopping at Wal-mart is dangerous and full of terrorists.

  • By God if my Walmart'(s) start this shit, I'm gonna rat out every fucking sheeple in the store, everytime I go!, Oh manager this old woman is carrying a bible, and I heard her say "praise god" I think she's a Zionist, Oh manager I think this beaner said "bomb" when I over heard him talking in Mexican, "Oh Manager", over there, I think I heard "Mutombo" tell his "fair skinned" girlfriend to "get her ass up the isle", I found it to be terrorizing" shit is fucking retarded, 1-800-rat-tail.

  • @KBBLASPHEMUS I can only think of one response to all of this. I think this video is the US Governments subtle way of telling us that Wal-mart is dangerous and full of terrorists. I find it hard NOT to think it's dangerous after watching Janet make her speech here.

  • I'll be sure not to go there wearing my Ron Paul t-shirt!

  • @999manman Are they trying to say that terrorists are going to do something at Wal-Mart? Hmmm. I am thinking that maybe I should stay away from that place since it is so dangerous. How could the Public Relations Dept at Wal-Mart even let this announcement go on the air? If people believe that going to Wal-Mart is dangerous they will stop going there. If they stop going there sales will be way down as will their corporate profits. This PSA makes a laughing stock out of all involved

  • I'm sure I'm probably already on some list, so I'll just say this: 1984.

  • Ive done sent my letter to walmart corporate office informing them of my decision to not shop there anymore. Inciting suspicion and fear is not my idea of a shopping experience. It took about 2 minutes of thought to realize there are plenty of other places to go.
