Born in 1947, Wesley Tinglin has been the foundation, lead vocalist and songwriter with The Viceroys, which was formed in Jamaica in about 1966, with Daniel Bernard and Bunny Gayle. After Bunny Gayle left the band, Tinglin recruited Neville Ingram as a replacement.

Since then, the band have had several name changes including The Inturns, The Interns and The Voiceroys. They eventually stuck with The Viceroys and the line-up stabilized with Wesley Tinglin being supported by harmony singers Neville Ingram and Norris Reid.

They had a big hit with this track, Heart Made Of Stone in 1980, which was a Sly And Robbie production on the Taxi label.
