Chrysler Group's Mopar® division is the first to offer in-vehicle wireless charging for your electronic devices.

The company will first make the technology available on the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart that arrives in dealerships in the second quarter of this year.

For easy access, a seamlessly integrated power bin, measuring 8.27" by 9.5" by 3.25", is installed just below the center stack and in front of the center console. The bin has a built-in charging grid that is activated when customers place in their battery-powered device. The unit begins to charge when the vehicle is started. A phone case, specifically designed for a variety of smartphones, is required and included with the feature.

Mopar in-vehicle wireless charging is available for $199.99, plus installation (part number 82213216).

Quickly, change it before too many of the people who are clueless that this isn't the inductive and then you have VERY unhappy customers then this product will sit on Mopar shelves and rot....

No one will want to change their back covers ebery time they get in the car and why would they when we have induction at home, work, restaurants etc etc.....

Who was the Dumb A** would made the final call on this....You had at least 4 or 5 years to see that conductive was not being used. and I know it didn't take that kind of time to work on this and then realize it was the wrong format of charging....

It was a BIG Mistake here.....They chose to use the Conductive charger and no one is using that anymore, it's all Inductive. SO CHRYSLER, trying to be Apple and make sure all the stuff we already own doesn't work with your Invention? WHY would you do something so Stupid. We already, well I do, have the induction in my phone and with your charger it will need a sleeve or replacement battery cover.

It's gonna be great when this technology starts failing and I (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep mechanic) have to fix it. Plus thank you for adding yet another feature which customers will have trouble with because their sales person didn't take the time to show them how to use it (same problem with the phone pairing on existing Chrysler group radios).

Next time you're at the dealership, thank the mechanic for doing a good job and curse the engineer for complicating simple matters. Not vice versa
