Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Game Gear - Level Select

The most frustrating Sonic game ever to be released.
But lucky for you fans out there I BloodBird, am doing what no one, for some odd reason has done before, I am videoing a Level Select code activation so you can cheat this game and beat it for the first time ever. Also note that this game is being played on Sonic Adventure DX, so I am using a Gamecube controller.

Please note that unless I have horrible searching skills, no single Sonic Game Gear game has been uploaded to Youtube or the Internet for that matter with Level Select Walkthrough.

This one is a toughy, just like the game itself, so just in case my narration isn't enough here is what you need to do.
Skip all the way to the Title Screen and when you get to it Hold down all at the same time these buttons: LEFT+DOWN+A+B and do not push start until the exact moment when Tails blinks for the third time. He will blink once, then twice fast, and on the third (second of the twice fast blinkings) blink, you need to push start so it's activated exactly when he first closes his eyes completely. If you get it right, you will go to level select, and you will be able to beat this merciless game once and for all. Unless you suck of course.

@PJtheSuperhog I haven't played it, but there is a difference between a stupidly difficult level and a stupidly designed level, and personally the more frustrating ones are the stupidly difficult ones.

This game is so hard that they made even the level select cheat hard.

I can't get past the first boss :P

i think i will just play the game normal lol. the game is not that hard. what about sonic labyrinth? or sonic drift those ones are hard

This is not the way I remember doing it on the game gear. I used to be something like press A + B on the start, press start when it goes into the cut scene, then rotate it the d-pad about 3 times either clockwise or counterclockwise... level select really *does* work... you'll hear a ring noise...

it works better when you push the start button too all the time that works better

I just did it, it works when Tail's eye is closed, so it's like he winks at you and gives you level select, it'll stop at the eye closed completely that's when it's right. Also, did anyone read the way to do it on gamefaqs? nothing like this way.

I got the game gear, could never get the code to work, same with the Sonic 3 for genesis, your a better man than me, LOL!
