  • They do a great job with this song.

  • Thanks for commenting.

  • That's hilarious! Thanks for sharing that. I guess we all mis-hear lyrics sometimes, but this is one of the better stories.

  • Bob Dylan offered the song to record for The Everlys. He went backstage to visit with them after a show. Phil asked if Bob had any new songs they might record. He picked up a guitar and sang so quietly that they could not clearly make out all the words, and thought they heard "lay lady lay, lay across my big breasts, babe." Thinking it was a song about lesbians, Don Everly said "thank you, it's a great song, but I don't think we could get away with that", and declined to record it.

  • I really love this version of the song.

  • This is one of the best versions of the song I ever heard. I love Dylan's version because it is so honest and earthy. The Everly Brothers expressed the song in sensuality.

  • Love this version of the song...they bring a whole different vibe to the song..in a way that only the Everly Brothers could. If your not into the Everly brothers, you should be! Love It!

  • God, those voices are fantastic.

  • I meant Dylan of course...hey, it's early and I just got up!

  • They didn't record it, not the......

  • Originally written for the Everly Bros. by Bob Dillon...the didn't record it, he did and it was a hit...they didn't record it 'til the EB '84 album! I like this version!

  • Not bad..but I hate to say, had they been the original singers, Dylan would have lost out on a gem. no one could ever pull it off the way he did. he totally changed his singing personality and made the song totally unique as only he could.

  • Sooooo many (great) bands and artists covered the Everly's, this is one of the few covers they did themself and it's great!!

  • que cancion pa tan xvr ahhh
