Michael Amante, one of the most talked about upcoming American tenors on either side of the pop/classical divide, creates buzz among everyone who hears his voice. Michael's latest project "Amante Salutes America" is focused on the production of a patriotic album, which will provide financial support to organizations benefiting United States Disabled Veterans. Michael Amante is an egotistical wanna be... His voice is squeaky lacking depth and color. His interpretation is lacking in emotion and flavor. He doesn't have a clue.

His Spanish diction is poor. His "d" are executed incorrectly ("d"s next to a consonant are dentalized, and those between two vowel sounds are executed as a voiced "th"), and every "t" that should be dentalized is instead aspirated. This immediately affects the vowel that follows each of these consonants, making them less pure. The voice is not bad, but it needs about three to five years of serious work before it can really play in the professional classical leagues. It sounds...well...young.

@nannanpoppop SERGIO had a good tenor voice and was a brilliant entertainer; however no one could top Mario Lanza as a crossover tenor.Mario never sang at a major oprea house because he went to Hollywood.Mario 's name is often mentioned with some of the great tenor's of the past ann present.His voice was golden!

Michael Amante has a nice tenor voice, however he will never come close to the great Sergio Franchi. Sergio was truly the first crossover tenor, all else pale in comparison.

I disagree with the negative comments about Michael Amante's diction in ITALIAN. I speak Italian fluently and in my opinion, he usually has good diction in Italian, though he does occasionally make a mistake.  The diction of most Italians when they sing in English, incl. Pavarotti, left much to be desired. Del Monaco's English diction was notoriously bad. I can't judge Amante's Spanish diction because I don't speak Spanish. I've never heard him sing any song in Spanish except Granada.

Good voice but no comparison to Mario Lanza or other great tenors. Also, he needs lessons in Italian & Spanish phonetics; his pronunciation in these languages is atrocious!!!
