It isn't that Jason Bittner is subpar it is just there are far more "good" drummers now adays with the amount of information available readily. Jason is alright at what he does. No, he doesn't have near the chops of freaks like Jojo Mayer.

FINALLY...proof positive that you dont need a double kick pedal to have an incredible sounding solo. i'm sick of the double kick...it makes the chumps sound like they're something to the uninformed/ignorant. this guy is awesome.

what? lol, Portnoy doesn't have the best technique. His technique sucks. I do however LOVE his playing style. He's one of my favorite drummers ever. But don't confuse taste and style with ability and technique

In the technique+tastefulness camp are people like Jojo mayer, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Dennis Chambers.
