Well I heard that windows 7 on a notebook ran about as fast as Win XP. You didn't have to be a dick about it. I was just saying that I would of expected it to be faster and in some point in the video I thought I heard you mention you upgraded to 2GB of RAM. And paying $350 for a little laptop running a intel atom is a waste. I mean, they figured out the Celerons at 900mhz run faster than the 1.6ghz Atom. But hey, I understand you want a small laptop.

Sorry, that did come out rather rude. Yeah, banging around as i do, the netbook is perfect for me. I think I like the Window 7 features so much better than XP I overlook the little speed differences. Once again, sorry to be a "dick."

What did you use to get windows 7 installed, a flash drive or a external disc drive? Also, did you simply put it on the second partition which is the D: and keep XP on the other or what?

I used ImgBurn and created a DVD. I installed the Win 7 Beta with a USB Flash drive, this time I had a fast portable DVD drive so I chose that method. I have been running Windows 7 beta and now RC exclusively. I am also the tech for a large school district with 1500+ nodes on 7 sites. This netbook and Win 7 get the job done...Trust me!

You guys realize that he is using a program to record this, which in computers like these makes em run pretty sluggish. I'm sure the actual performance is better than this. Even if by a slight margin.

9 or 9.5 advertised. doubt can get 9 even with xp

5 hours is really nice. My laptop only went 3 hrs about.

optimizing for best performance eliminated most lag. 2gb ram, overclocking to 2+ ghz with setfsb helps. my only problem is battery life. with only wlan on, lcd 20-30% bright, firefox 5 tabs, thunderbird, gaim instant messenger i get ~5 hrs. have to disable some processes and services running in background.

I love Win7 although it did seem a bit slow on the Netbook. Whats it like with basic settings? Like WIN7 basic color.

i run w7 7100 on my HE. it's not as fast as XP, even xp lags on netbooks. i just got mine. partitioned 25gb for windows and a few progs. the rest of hdd for everything else. atom n280 is a slight improvement over 270, 667 vs 533mhz.. o/c 270 to 2041mhz and still couldn't play delta force. now o/c to 1905mhz with setfsb. DFTS is playable. also no more lag in VLC full screen. battery life is around 5hrs in win 7. underclock should increase that. so far it's a keeper.
