In the beginning of the interview, hew was trying to state that he believes, "a lot of heterosexual white men in our society have a problem with women and people of color", and that he sees it as acceptable to degrade women and minorities based upon what he's learned from society. At 3:56, he's stating that he's not alarmed at the violent nature of Markoff, based upon the statements made at the beginning of the interview. If that is truly how he feels, I'd be skeptical of him also!
