This is part 3 of a 5-part promotional video for Living Enrichment Center, which was a New Thought Christian church in Wilsonville, Oregon. This promotional video is called "What the World Now Needs," and it was produced in 2003.

Living Enrichment Center was a "mega church" with a congregation estimated between 2,000 and 5,000. It often featured famous speakers, such as Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, Arun Gandhi, Kenny Loggins, Neal Donald Walsch, and many others, many of whom are featured in this video.

Living Enrichment Center closed amid a $20 million dollar financial scandal only a year after the production of this video. The scandal was directly related to the content of this promotional video: requests for donations to the church. Many of the donations to the church were deposited directly into the personal bank accounts of Mary Morrissey and her husband Ed Morrissey. As of this writing (8/06) Ed Morrissey, who had served as CFO of Living Enrichment Center, is in prison for money laundering. As a result of the plea bargain struck with the state of Oregon, Mary Morrissey is not serving prison time but has been required to pay back $10 million of loans to congregants, and she is barred from selling securities. As of this date, only $42,000 has been repaid to congregants, and yet Mary Morrissey continues to conduct high cost retreats and workshops around the country.

  • Mary Morrissey is a crook plain and simple. BEWARE. Get involved with Mary or her organisation and you will be gouged for as much money as they can get. My wife enroled and paid in full for several of her over priced programmes. Today her credit card was cleaned out by these people!!! apprently she owed them money for yet another programme for which she had not enroled.

Hope this helps someone out there.

    Shame Mary

  • @airsealnewzealand I'm really sorry to hear that. This is awful. It sounds like things are getting even worse. At Living Enrichment Center, Mary Morrissey and her people simply diverted money. Now, it sounds like they are outright STEALING money.

Word is already out. People who get burned know what happened. Unfortunately, there are people out there who do not know what happened in Oregon, or who turn a blind eye and believe Mary's nonsense story that it was all her husband's fault.

  • The real Morrissey would be appalled!

  • You mean Morrissey the singer? lol

  • This was NOT a scam. I lived it and breathed it for 4 wonderful years. God made profound changes in my wounded life because of LEC and the loving example of this gracious and humble woman, Rev. Mary, and the like-minded people with whom I journeyed back then Thank you for this video. T/Y, Rev. Mary, and fellow-LEC'ers for this absolutely stunning place of worship. A Greedy, thieving husband can unwind many good deeds of an unsuspecting wife. I'm so sorry all unwound by embezzler Ed Morrisey.

  • Funny how Mary preached non-stop about not being a victim, and then people just accept her nonsense story that she was victimized by her husband.

Did you know that Living Enrichment Center was begun on a farm with one of the most heavily fined migrant camps in the state? Did you know her son embezzled the church to support his drug habit? And the inside story gets even uglier.... I know, because I worked there.

  • @IngotWeTrust I also attended church there and Mary did give me lessons of value which I cherish. But then I worked there and found out what was really going on. There was a lot of pettiness and small minded controlling people. I was there and know that Mary banned my friend from the church because he dared question why the crew he was on was being used on church time and church pay to landscape her house on Bull Mountain. That is illegal. So value what you did get, but don't idolize Mary.

  • I used to go to this church haha...it was so huge and fun

  • did these people have any foundational doctrine? any proclomation of faith? typical pacific northwest noisy nonsense.

  • Another anti-christ movement. However we were warned that there would be wolves in sheep clothing trying to steal the word of god and lead the followers astray

  • Sicko! You all just got Punk'd!!!

  • i miss this so much. That was the only religious organization where I felt ok to be myself. I didn't have to go to church. I could watch from home and still, it helped me. I miss it soooo much. God I wish they would start a program, or make the old videos available to buy. Are they on ebay?
