It's like everything else in life, you cherish your youth regardless of the warts. The Vet wasn't the greatest place to see a ballgame, a lot of foul ball territory kept you away from the infield. When the Phillies were great in '93 having 65,000 seats had it advantages. Rarely missed a game I wanted to attend that season.
I remember when Greg Gross came up with the Astros around 1973 or so. The Astros announcers were interviewing him and a fat catcher named Cliff Johnson on a local broadcast. Gross and Johnson were supposed to be two of the young guys who would finally lead the Astros from expansion patsies to a pennant. It would be another 32 years before finally winning that pennant and then the World Series turned out to be a disaster. And the Chicago Cubs think they're cursed???

Multi-colored seats at the Vet!! I always sat in the yellow seats in thw 700 level or the metal bleachers at teh very top of the bowl

Nice - LOL - I surprised he could talk; Greg would always warm up in the own deck circle with about 20 weights on his bat.
