A documentary on Women in Buddhism: 仏教、尼僧ドキュメンタリー映画『 円明院』

2010年夏、宇野港映画上映シリーズ http://unoportartfilms.org にて上映決定。2009年11月28日、29日岡山映像祭/映画祭にて日本初公開。

"The GateKeeper of Enmyoin - According to a 95 year-old female Buddhist Priest" will be shown at Uno Port Art Films http://unoportartfilms.org at Uno Port (near Naoshima island) Okayama, Japan. It was premiered in Japan, at Okayama Film Festival November 28th & 29th, 2009.

The world-premiered was at Hawaii International Film Festival in 2007, and later broadcasted on Oceanic Time Warner Cable during the month of Sept. 2009.

Her temple is in Okayama, Japan. She built it by herself and left it in a young woman's hand... why a woman? What does it take to be a woman in Japanese Shingon Buddhist world today? All is answered in the film...
