We heard that NA2 had some problems this morning, everything from going into emergency for no appearent reason, to switch problems in Norpaul yard. This is the first time I've seen the IHB in Franklin Park, and hope that it not be my last. This was one of two IHB trains that made appearances today. Even though for some reason he didn't give any horn at the crossings in downtown (stupid) he gave horn for Chestnut street when he came back running LHF. IHB 2920 has the best M3 horn I've ever heard.

  • The crossings downtown are probably in quiet zones, so I would imagine that's why he didn't give any horn.

  • That's the thing, there are no quoet zones on this line. Franklin Park is not a quiet zone by any means necessary. Crews just simply don't care.

  • yes, franklin is a quiet zone, the only place where the IHB is required to blow their horn is at B-12 entering the CP by Grand Ave. It's not a issue of not caring, it a law.

  • Franklin Park is not a QZ, and most trains from the harbor except train w/ harbor crews give horn for all the crossings. And the IHB crosses Grand via a bridge.

  • Awesome! I never see the ihb where i want to....

  • I never see IHB. LOL

  • What time did you catch this train?

  • Nice to see you've caught IHB in Franklin Park!NA2 can come at unexpected times depending on how it's running. There is a light power move that leaves Bensenville sometimes. That job is NA11.I think about 2 IHB trains can be seen in Franklin Park.

  • Ok, I've been working for the IHB for almost 5 years now, and in our timetable rules it directly states which crossings in IL we are allowed to blow the horn at. I can tell you them all on our lines if you want to know.

  • Nice video! Great to see the SD20. I wish the WSOR still had theirs.
