This suite was premiered by Andres Segovia as a composition by S. L. Weiss, a famous German Lute player in Baroque Period. Later people found it was actually by Ponce.

  • i've been working on this for years. You play it very very well, very musical...i am interested in some alternate fingering you use...i will give it a try....i have tried to play it the way it is done in the segovia master class video....i have a lot of respect for the work you have done, this is a difficult piece to play...excellent.

  • GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!

  • Fantastic work mate. This is one I want to attempt completely before I leave this planet. Your video has encouraged me to further that goal.

  • This is the whole story:

The famous Suite en la mineur was written in Paris during 1929 in response to Segovia's request for a work in the style of Bach. Fearful that his Kreislereque prank would be obvious if the suite was attributed to Bach, Segovia persuaded Ponce to use Weiss as a pseudonym.

  • It is well known that this is a Ponce's composition... indeed!

  • I really love the music of Weiss and the first time I heard this suite I was thinking "This is not Weiss his music is very different , the title must be wrong " sometimes later I read that it wasn't Weiss, well good try for Ponce but can't trick who listen to Weiss music.

  • Thats great!!! Your pley iz awesome! Bravo Kosei!

    Greetings from solar Azerbaijan!
