sure , but what happens when both sides at war do not apply youre so called governed rules and laws of war? mercs seem to be a good thing, have you forgotten hoe the foe's behave? their leaders lie, cheat and steal from their own citizens and the U.S. government! and as far as them being in the south during katrina, good! we didnt have enough man power to keep the niggers in check!maybe you would think differant Jeremy if youre familly or loved ones were raped or shot or pillaged with no remorse

I can understand what this gentleman is saying and there is always waste, fraud and abuse in any organization, especially one that is entrusted with billions of USD. I do have to say, having said that, that they do serve a purpose, especially in the PSD Security field that has saved many a person from attack and direct danger to their lives. Xe personnel/Blackwater or many of the lower known companies fill a need.
Now that US Troops are out of Iraq, how can we get the 70,000+Contractor out?

U overlook all the good and positive benefits Blackwater has brought to the military...I almost bought ur book but I ead afew pages and realized its just a hater book.

Amuses me to no end how many dolts continue to support Blackwater. The fact the company was kicked out of Iraq, had to change it's name & Erik Prince quit to go train mercs in the UAE (which is against US law BTW) doesn't seem to matter to these delusional peons. The US needs to stop spending tax money to hire scumbag mercs & treat these douchebags like the war criminals they r.

@certifiedchillin420 Federal DoS agents are required to protect the american diplomats. Military is DoD. kinda simple actually
-
@certifiedchillin420 PMCs arnt mercs they are strictly defensive. And it cost roughly 700k a year to have just one soldier deployed (due to needed support elements, training, pensions, gi bills, clothing, weapons, etc..). So PMCs actually save the US a great deal of money.
-
@agitcam PMCs are not mercs. All of them are at most defense contractors. Blackwater is DoS PSD teams. And when i was in Iraq i personally saw with my own eyes chemical weapons. Which are???....you guessed it WMDs. The same ones Sadam used on his own people.

@virtualrealityknows that was a hazing incident by Armorgroup (UK company) they were embassy guards. they lost the contract right after.
-
@LrdArtos actually mercs are foreign soldiers for hire. These are americans (all prior military sworn to an oath) working for an american company, hired by an american government. They are called defense contractors for a reason. All contractor positions are defensive.

@NormanArches you know what, shit happens. Was it right? maybe not, but i dont know because i wasnt there, But neither was Scahill and at this point its just a finger pointing game. Im going to believe my coworkers before i believe an Iraqi. Also, Blackwater's vehicles were shot up and one completely damaged in Nisour square, but i guess they shot each other right?
I love watching armchair generals who have never served in the military, and know nothing about what it's like to be in combat in the middle east running their mouths about whats right and wrong, about what should be done better. Nobody who has actually been there gives a crap about your worthless opinion. Now go spend some more of your money so your tax dollars can go to people who are actually making a difference in the world. Thank you.

Well if we could just start paying our troops 100,000 to 200,000 dollars for 9 month periods then maybe our soldiers wouldn't have to become contractors to make a decent living for themselves and their families
