A trick I use is to use a thumbpick - but NOT in the usual way. I put it on but then grip it with my forefinger and it effectively becomes a pick that I can't drop. I also then have the option to switch to using it as a traditional thumbpick.

@AlanSturgess I sometimes use a "Bumblebee" pick, which has an adjustable, rotating pick attached to the thumb-piece - but I prefer a little flexibility when using a pick. :-)

How amazing! You continue to amaze me! What a great tune and your constant adjustment of the pick while your playing, I'll assume it was slipping around a bit, If that would have be me it would have ended up inside the guitar! :-)
The hat..........I dont' know.....:-)

@AlPrindle If you want to get ahead, get a hat... :-) I loosen and re-grip the pick just to relax the fingers in between phrasing - and to check that it's at the right length and angle for the phrase I want to play. :-)
