  • A really good performance of a pleasant piece. Tempos, I think, feel just about right - that perfect place between too slow and too rushed. Nice blend of the different sections of the band and secure brass performance. What I hear revealed is something about the big-heartedness of this composer and his sense of comfortableness with the folk musical traditions of his country. And a kind of nostalgia for the loss of the society that spawned these tunes.

  • I played french horn with my community band many years ago and we enjoyed doing any RVW piece!

  • DUDE the flute part is THE HARDEST ONE >.<!

  • I'm impressed.

We played this 'back in the day." I loved playing it (I was first trumpet).

  • we are playing this at school and it is sooo hard. i am claranet one and we have to do all these anoying fingerings

  • I HAVE TO LEARN THE SOLO!!! DAMNRIR!!! D:

  • @darknessbind No kidding.

  • @Finistereny Agreed, many bands play this song waaaay too fast, and much of the remainder is dreadfully slow.

  • I like the blend of sounds. At least the piccolo isn't so loud it drowns out everything. Even in our college symphonic band the piccolo is very loud, and we have so many flutes I'll be surprised if anyone can hear beyond my section. xD
