I think RK wanted to explore the north west territory with Fraser so he could meet up with Fraser's sister again, who he fell in love with at first sight. Otherwise RK would be extremely unhappy in the boring life of riding a dog sled around in the cold without a hat. Even Fraser would become bored out there, after experiencing the city where all the training he had in his youth were so suited for being a super crime fighter. There are no bad guys in the tundra except for maybe a litter bug.

@EquuZombie I'm only giving my own opinion - the ending of "COTW" sucks because PG favored one actor over another and forgot that not every fan of dS likes F/K slash. Some of us just can't stomach F/K slash because we just don't see it on screen, and we resent F/K fans shoving it down our throats. We also resent PG changing the original ending to ignore Fraser's friendship with RayV!
If you want to disagree with me and enjoy "COTW," then do!

@NancyK97 Wow, talk about "attitude!" Your sour grapes must make for a tasty "whine," since you're the one who's making anti-F/K statements and disparaging Paul on multiple DS clips. If anyone is being condescending and feeling superior, it's you. Your favorite character not getting the ending you wanted sucks (I know, I've been there) but it's no reason to continually attempt to spoil the enjoyment of others with spiteful comments and disparaging replies to anyone who actually liked it.

@EquuZombie There are far more F/K shippers than F/V shippers - I'll admit that - but I think a lot of those F/K shippers became shippers through fanfic, not by watching the show. Or they were brainwashed into the pairing through other F/K shippers.
I just resent your attitude - that F/K shippers are the superior ones because they see subtext that isn't glaringly obvious to every single person out there. And if want to accuse PG, I will - the ending of "COTW" was a huge mistake by him.

@NancyK97 I didn't say you were stupid for not seeing it. My point was that there are many, many more people who see F/K subtext (even my usually oblivious husband noticed it) than see F/V subtext (which I have never noticed despite my pretty thick slash goggles). Paul did not do a "poor job of it" if the subtext is obvious to as many people as it is. I'm sorry that your 'ship is in the minority but accusing Paul of favoritism because the show ends with Kowalski smacks of sour grapes to me.
