  • Your lessons look pretty "simple" to start with, so I'll have to give it a try when I get a Uke.

Not being very bright, I'm attaching a stick and a few tuners to a tin can, but it'll do to start, then I can make something better later. Not as nice as a proper ukulele, but at least it'll cost more.

    Should be fun to learn.

  • @Hikikomori013 Good luck! Fun is what it's all about!

  • Thanks for your kind comments. I have recently formed a ukulele band called Melfort Ukuleles (or M.U. for short - but not to be confused with the Musicians’ Union !!!). If you e mail me direct, I could send you copies of my tutorials - all free of charge. Out of interest, please let me know which country you are from. Keep strumming! Peter

  • why would you use a pick?

how do you do a triple stroke using a pick?

  • Hi I use the plectrum for these lessons because I feel it easier for a beginner. I do use the fingers as well but I am now so accustomed to using the plectrum for my banjo playing. For the 4-string guitar, I use the fingers - Chet Atkins style. Anyway, thanks for listening and for your comments. Lesson No. 4 will be coming out shortly! Yours tunefully - Peter. P.S. Where are you from? Do you have any videos on YouTube?

  • Hi. Thanks for that. George probably did just use his fingers - well never know!! I just felt that a plectrum was easier for teaching purposes. Most beginners do use a plectrum. Keep Strumming. Peter

  • Fantastic! Youve made my day! Many Happy Returns for the 16th Feb. Sorry I dont have a spare one to give you! Have fun - and let me know how you get on please.
