I love Lee Marvin in this. I love him in anything, but especially in this. He can't sing a note, but somehow doesn't let that stand in his way. He just blasts right through and carries the whole thing off with pure growly charisma. It's brilliant!

Part of "Paint Your Wagon" was filmed 2 miles from my house outside of Modesto Ca. I was only a kid. My mom spent a couple of days on the set, totally happy to be there. Harve Presnell was really nice to her. I was there for a few hours but it was hot and my attention span was short! I was sad to hear that Harve passed away today.
