I've done marathons. Do folks who train & run ultras have jobs? What percentage of the trek does one walk in an event like this... roughly? The hidden water is a brilliant idea.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this video

81 degrees is a cool run for me...Where I'm from it reaches 110 degrees. I am from South Texas, as arid as it comes.

@Cordobike I have just started training for the NYC Marathon and I put 2 gatorades and 2 liters of water hidden in different spots along my trails. I thought I was the only one that did that. I guess not lol.

Depends most just consider getting from one check point to another in specific time. It isn't like they are thinking "Run 10:00 minute miles the whole way".

:) wow, I am very impressed of the "hidden-water" detail. I thought I was the only one who did it. :) Were I live it is over 100ºF easily in summer. But what I do is carrying the water I will hide. That is a big store compared to mine! :) Very good. Very clever, always keep hydrated. When you arrive to the point it is really like an Oasis. sure.
Does a ultramarathon runner worries about PACE?
