This might be boring to some, but I thought the drive system on this ferry was cool and unique. It is the main ferry that runs from Merrimack, WI across the Wisconsin River, just north of Madison. I don't know if it was powered by fossil fuel or by electricity, but the way it motivated was by pulling itself along three underwater cables with a drive wheel in the middle of the hull and guides on either side of the bow and stern. Very smooth, quiet and quick.
