After a smash run on London's West End, Sister Act is preparing to open on Broadway. In a press preview on March 2, we got a sneak peek at star Patina Miller (as Deloris Van Cartier) working it out on "Fabulous, Baby!" The '70s-infused number, in which Deloris decides someone as fierce as herself doesn't need a mobster boyfriend, is just one of many show-stopping numbers from the score by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. The musical will start raising its voice at the Broadway Theatre on March 24. To whet your appetite for this high-spirited show, watch Miller get fabulous in our video.

  • Damn, Miller! You look good!

  • @GravityIsUnderated This would have been a full days rehearsal. Patina and the cast would have had to 'tone it down' in order to preserve her voice. Being trained in Musical Theatre she knows how to do this without it being obvious. Wait until the show :-)

  • Definetly think after seeing the UK tour production which is the same as the broadway production that the changes were for the better :) it flows better, the only change that I didn't like was replacing How I got the calling with its good to be a nun. It's good to be a nun dragged and it was boring, forgettable and it doesnt help that it's set to the same music as how I got the calling.

  • why did they change the scene from the original production ? :S

  • I saw it last week. cant stoppppp looking for it on youtube

  • I saw this show in the summer and I NEEEEED to see it again. Such a fantastic show.

  • I think CROTON IN DA HOUSE(Audra McDonald) should get to play Deloris at some point.

  • @Jonnyriffic

    Yes and No.

It's different lyrics now, but the UK tour version is the same as this. Quite a few amendments since the Palladium. Some for the better, some, unfortunately, not. But it's all relative.

I loved it when I saw the premier last week.

  • I met Patina in London, back in 2009, she was indeed fabulous, I'll always remember when she gave me a big hug!

  • I actually quite like the lyric changes made for the Broadway production. This show is definitely on my (long) list of shows to see.

  • i saw this play in july with my mom in nyc. omg, i loved this! and trust me, she can BLOW!!!!

(i love sweaty eddie the most though)

  • @CleveNMLActor Um...no! She is just saving her voice for the show. She's holding back. Trust me I saw her. She's Patina Miller for god's sake...she has amazing control and won't allow anything to happen like that.
