Thousands of civilians dead, injured and displaced with no means of escape or refuge; to even suppose the indiscriminate destruction of human life and the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure as anything but absurd only serves to reinforce your child-like mentality.

It's easy for one to be pragmatic about death and inhumane suffering when you have no stake in the matter; of course to challenge these notions might require you to confront your own humanity.

in every war in the history of mankind, armies targeted enemy nation's civilian infrastructure, i took part in cast lead and extreme measures were taken to ensure minimized civilian casualties while avoiding risk to troops.

National identity taken to an extreme not only alienates one group of people from another but alienates people from their own humanity. Of all the victims it is both aggressor and aggressed who suffer equally in this way. Neither combatant is victorious - both become dehumanized.

How much of the massive oil revenues currently being channelled into creating a playground for affluent Western tycoons in places like Dubai and a military haven for US operations in Pakistan, is being diverted to build new schools, hospitals, manufacturing and commerce infrastructure in Palastine?
