She seems to be singing with a weird accent..

Is that just the singing style? Or is it some dialect?

@anaelyssa - It's a singing style yes. It grows on you after you heard it some times or you just hate it completely :P

I think the singing style here may be influenced by traditional Japanese Enka music, youtube it to see what I mean, somewhat like classic opera music where the singer fluctuates her voice between different pitches.

She sings with a specific element of enka called kobushi where a single syllable of text is sung while moving between several different notes in succession. It's a very interesting style. You either love it or you don't. It's often associated with old people since enka was really popular back in the day. For more modern enka singers youtube "Atari Kousuke" the singer of Natsume Yuujinchou ED 1 and 3

She is so good singer and professional.

Her uniqely style is a traditional singing style in Amami Oshima.

I suppose her style couldn't match this song well...

but I love this song.
