An experiment about discrimination done for AP Psychology Class.

In the first trial, I wore nice clothes and attempted to high five people while my friend tallied the number attempted and those that accepted the high five.

In the second trial we repeated the same process but I wore less socially acceptable clothing (really short overalls, tattered and ripped shirt, and a tobacco hat)

The results:

64% of people accepted the high five when I was well-dressed

36% of people accepted the high five when I was not well-dressed.

  • lol, kayser it probably doesn't help that you are in front of victoria secrets for the second trial.

  • Not very reliable results. You changed location. More of the people in the second location had their hands full of shopping. Did you also change the time of day?
