US and Iran on a collision course?

The relationship between Iran and the West hasn't been in good terms for the past several decades and with recent events things seem to have gotten a little rockier. Both sides have made questionable threats, all of which have pushed the two countries closer to war. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta has declared that Iran has abandoned all plans to develop nuclear weapons, but conflicting reports have surfaced in the mainstream media. Robert Naiman, policy director at Just Foreign Policy, joins us to help sort out fact from fiction.

I think that people can't see the forest for the trees. The next oil will be nuclear power. The US and others in our nuclear circle want to restrict the ability of anyone else to enrich uranium. There is no threat of a Iranian nuclear weapon but Iran could become an exporter of enriched uranium. If they do we won't be able to keep our monopoly of nuclear energy in the future.
