  • @LampPlaceThing I think we agree and I misunderstood your original comments. As I see it, what are they wanting to accomplish and how is that supposedly done thru war. War, violence and chaos will bring nothing good or which is desired by good in the modern times. Unless (as God previously stated in the Bible) the evil is completely eliminated, they will resurface and the war failed to accomplish anything righteous. All these wars are done by evil for evil & good shouldn't be involved.

  • @greghar2003 "Who do you battle in these wars and who do you fight for?"

God is not self-concerned nor is he always in it for his self-interests. Not every war needs to be justified as a "holy war (decreed by God)"

  • @greghar2003 "false pretences" Like the idea: that people could be enabling violence if there is not the right physical resistance?

[sigh] I know what false pretences are out there for it; however I also see actual reasons that help prevent atrocities that would latter be regretted by murderers who have latter repented.

Well... unless the bible makes it explicitly clear... and it COULD HAVE, that there is to be no killing EVER, I am still left with a difficult choice of to fight or not to...

  • @LampPlaceThing Why? Who do you battle in these wars and who do you fight for? These wars are not our battles. If the antichrist's armies want to battle it out and have fun, then do it without us! Those wars are not of our making or worthy of our involvement. We are good people and should not have the need o enter these wars under false pretenses or simply for the need to do something.

  • 2:25-243 "participation in war immoral and sinnful, and christians may not do it. This was the position of the entire church for the first 300 years of it's existence." That is a BOLD and overly bias statement seeing as it is simply saying to "the other side" that "I am right because I am doing what they did in the first place."

As a "just-war" person, I wonder why we have scriptural passages like Luke 3:14 where a disciple doesn't tell soldiers to leave military. Why can't God make it clear!?
