I on;t like to work too hard :) If I had done all of that with someone and got nowhere I would probably move on and just suggest we do it another time. However if you are determined to give your friend this experience then you need to get rid of his fears and that may mean shattering his illusion of Mr Brown. There are tips on doing this in the book but it is common sense advice about reassuring them and blowing away the myths of hypnosis etc. Good luck

Yes. You can learn this stuff by mimicking others. However the one things that seems to lack, if that is all you do, is the belief that you can do it. For some inexplicable reason without that it rarely works. Lets face it what you see on the clips here is so simple - most people are left thinking there must be more to it. There is and that thing is not about technique it is about your own inner game.

There is not a lot more to it in terms of the technique. But there is more to than you might think in terms of the mindset and intent to hypnotise.

Why do you ask, what do you plan to steal?

My advice is get some good training in rapid hypnosis techniques.

Not really. I didn't know him, had literally met him seconds before the footage began. Got his permission to have a go and went straight in with the method seen here. Rather than getting all 'NLP' and thinking about building rapport, I assume I have rapport, that it exists already and is there to be lost or not. Hope that makes sense.

thanks for the advice, for that i will buy your book ;). On another note one of my friends wants to be hypnotised very badly... he knows alot about how it works but b/c of derren brown he thinks it is mind control. now i tryed to clear this inhabition of his so that he could be hypnotised and tryed and it simply wont work. i tryed shock, confusion and prog relaxation nothing seemed to have any affect not even waking hypno. any thoughts?

Great stuff Great stuff, but whenever i perform an instant induction my participants do generally go into somnambulism but not all for the most part, dont drop their heads forward or close their eyes with out suggestion

lol, i dont plan to steal anything, i was just wondering if hypnosis is something u can pick up by mimicking others, or weather knowledge needs to be passed down in order for it to work.

i ask this because im sure a few people out there would want to learn these techniques for purposes that are not viewed as 'correct' e.g to mug someone. have there been cases of these techniqes being abused?
