  • Regarding the term "double stops"... I understand that "double" refers to the fact that you are playing 2 notes at a time... so what does the "stop" refer to?

  • It's a term for a technique that occurs on the violin in regards to bowing more than one note. I think it's just a borrowed term that sounds like it might be relevant but doesn't really belong to the guitar world.

Anyone out there can explain this?

  • @goldensleeves I don't understand it either. When you say 'stop the note', it's logical to assume it means to 'stop it sounding by depressing the string'. You can't stop it if it already hasn't been played (plucked).

  • I didn't know John Malkovich could play blues guitar

  • You teach EXCEPTIONALLY well. A lot of guys on these tutorials can play really well, but don't explain or teach as well - you do both exceptionally well!

  • veery nice sound ! nice lesson thanks

  • focus on picking accuracy

  • Could you spend a couple of minutes going over your pick hand technique for double stops? Specifically using a pick. I tend to use a hybrid technique to pluck the two strings, but strumming double stops is a little tougher. Do you try to mute neighboring strings, or do you just focus on picking accuracy to make sure you're getting the notes you want?

    THANKS!!
