Using an external input as the carrier of the vocoder

p. 34 Microkorg Owners Manual

1. connect the included mic to the AUDIO 1 CONDENSER jack, and connect the output jack of your external device to the AUDIO IN 2 LINE jack. Use the VOLUME 1 and Volume 2 knobs to adjust the levels so that the audio signals are output to AUDIO IN 1 and 2

2 When you raise the MIXER "INST LEVEL" (knob 2) value, the input signal from AUDIO IN 2 will be input to the band pass filter (synthesis filter) of the carrier.

3. When you raise the MIXER "OSC 1 LEVEL" (knob 1) and play the keyboard, the OSC 1 waveform will be input to the the band pass filter of the carrier

4. If you set the AUDIO IN 1 "HPF GATE" (knob 4) to Disable (DIS), the high frequency portion of the input signal from the AUDIO In 1 jack will also be output.

  • I deffinately plan to buy your CD. You do your own thing and I appriciate that.

  • The beginning is reminiscent of back to the future. I expected a speaker to explode when you started playing.

  • very very sick bro im going this when I get home.

  • So im guessing....that you could maybe use this same method with an electric violin?? maybeee? hahahah

  • niiiiiccccceeeeeee

  • whoa this is awesome ... buying it for sure now and running my les paul thru it ... whew ... awesome ... thank you.

  • for some reason i can't adjust my delay

  • Let me see if i got this right,u plugged the guitar somehow in the micro, but playing it wont make sound unless you ''breathe'' on the mic?

  • @Linksaa more presets.. (like piano/strings) i thought the rest were pretty lacking. 2 real good factors about the mkxl is that the keys are immensly better and feel much greater to play.... and the layout of all the controlls is a lot more inntuative. . . . . so i guess its about weighing up these pros and cons... honestly, i cant say one is better than the other.... but me personally, i really prefer the mk1.... Thats why it is still in production i guess!!! hope this helped. :)

  • @Linksaa Went and tried both out the other day and ended up buying the mk1 as i personnaly thought it was a lot more durable/looks better... These are what i think personally though... it was real hard to make my choice as a felt both had great selling points...... i tested out all the patches and came to the conclusion that if you want kind of a lot more glitchy sounds, your best bet is to go for mk1 (lots sound like flying lotus) that kind of thing... Although the xl has a bit
