Some impressions of my latest trip to kazachstan, mongolia and russia.
Within 3 months I traveled 26.000km on the bike, 40km on a crazy horse, 800km on an old shipping boat over lake baikal, 4500km on the transibirean railroad and 3000km on a truck...

  • Warst in Vinnitsya???? Hotel??

  • Really nice, I am planning the same from austria to Japan, I have a 990 adventure would you do it again with this bike or would you choose a lighter ktm 640 adventure?

  • @enemesi: 990ADV is the best joice for a trip like this. buy sparefilters !!!! for the petrolpump, thats it!

  • did you travel alone or did you any back up cars?

  • no support cars. everything i needed fitted on the bike...

  • @enemesi... to be honest you need loads off gear. ktm 640 is to light to carry on everything ....

  • with Russian Police ( they working for mafia afterhours) so manny US dollars in 1 or 5 notes for fee... but you cant go there to late beaucouse later on otumn and winter is coming and road or of roads changed in big muddy field and rivers for dangerous and strong one - so will be no places to cross them. fuel filters ok - tanks in petrol station are not so clean, and best something for mosquitos they are big and really badly bites you...yes next year Im buying ktm and will go there-

  • yes really nice trip. to anyone before Borman and you it was Romuald Koperski- polish traveller. Have been traveling from ZURICH to Russia,Mongolia Syberia,CANADA to NY in USA in 1994 with no support ( I think in DEFENDER) I read fab book witch fab storys- then many times been back to Syberia. ..anyway nice people there -have nothing and they share with you last meal... heh you need to be rady for lots and lots of glasses of vodka- deeper in Russia - bigger glass;) yes you need to be careful
