  • This was fantastic information! Thank you & Great job.

  • Thank god you EXIST!!!

  • Sorry, but it does not work as you specified here on the Samsung BD-P1500. I have followed these instructions to the T. however, whilst the bluray player recognises that a USB drive is plugged in, but it does not load the s/w at all, nor does it show the dialog box to confirm you want to update the firmware. Does the USB need to be formatted in a particular way? Whatever it is, this method does not work

I have also tried the CD method and that also does not work.

    Why is it so maestro?

  • I have the unit BD-P1600 XAC and I too get the "Black Screen of Death".

  • Same problem as well. Screen goes black. Tried with USB update and CD update.

  • Doesnt work samsung... I have the same problem as the guy below. Put the usb in and the screen goes black. I cann't watch new blu rays. I will not be buying samsung again.

  • I have tried this and all that happens is my player says verifying firmware update then after a minute or so the screen goes black and it doesnt do anything else, i have made sure i have the right file for the model of player i have, any help would be great

  • Use charzup's instructions, they worked on my 1600 when the videos did not. TYVM charzup!

  • I had trouble too with my Samsung BDC5500. I found you have to have nothing plugged into USB ports when you power the player on. WAIT until display reads "No Disk". After it displays "no disk", you can then plug in the usb stick.

I used a MacBook pro for the download and put the .RUF update file onto a usb stick formatted as "Fat32". The guy in the video is also using a Mac.

  • Fuck this piece of shit! I followed all the instructions... It's all a lie! You cant fix them! it's a samsung... send it to the dump!
