Aristotle's views on science, politics and ethics had a profound effect on the way Europeans viewed the world and interpreted the Bible. For example, the Church's battle with Galileo was a philosophical clash over whether Aristotle was right or wrong. As it turns out Aristotle was wrong, the Earth revolves around the Sun. Sadly, Aristotle's views on ethical matters such as slavery contributed to harsh working conditions among the indigenous people of the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Aristotle wrote that the "lower sort" are by nature slaves, and it is better for them, as it is better for all inferiors, that they should be under the rule of a master. A worldview must be built from the Bible, not on the philosophies of men.

  • @noobenstein FYI, Galileo was not executed, though he was tyrannically suppressed.

  • Besides, Aristotle lived thousands of years before Gallieleo

  • The pope executed Gallelieo.

Now some crazy Americans have decided to blame Aristotle for this!

Aristotle didn't call for anyone to be executed.

  • lol what?

    srsly...

  • The Bible, I suppose, came directly from the Heavens, written by the hand of the Almighty himself.
