  • I'm trying to buy my first bike. Found a really cheap '06 fzr600, but it needs carbs redone or replaced. Do you know if it is expensive or hard to do yourself?

    hard rate is about 4/5 and maybe must change vacuum rubbers, all gasgets, clean all jets, open all holes inside carburetors...it could be expensive, but you must check it first.

  • sounds real good. have the same bike, 1990 fzr 1000 exup. my question is, that pipe right behind the carbs and goes over the frame, does that stay on? how do u fit the tank over it?

    it is wrong place and not install yet. it is pipe from intercooler to plenum and both isnt install yet too. it is there only becouse it include intake air temperature sensor and megasquirt need it and be installed. And i made new pipe final installation.

    check "finnsquirt net" site and there "Menestystarinat" and then "Yamaha FZR1040 TiC -91 (kuvat 2.8.2011+2 videota)."

    When boost is <1bar, Air/fuel mix is 11,5-12 and compression ratio is <10 i think this motor work fine and valves endure all heat and power. Rpm limitter is ~10800(stock ~11800) because i have a stock connecting rods.

    Max boost ~0,8bar

    MS1 control fuelmixture and it work with REQ_FUEL*VE*TPS*MAP*E+accel + Injector_open_time

    Fuel mixture is allways just right what you programmed in ecu.

    I use 2*4 injectors, 4 on throttlebody+4 on plenum. both are ~280cc. Plenum injectors work >5000 rpm/>70% TPS and they give more fuel if engine need. Throttlebody injectors work all the rpm/tps scale.
