The Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet performing at the Bimhuis, Amsterdam. Peter Brötzmann (reeds), Ken Vandermark (reeds), Joe McPhee (trumpet), Jeb Bishop (trombone), Johannes Bauer (trombone), Conny Bauer (trombone), Fred Lonberg-Holm (cello), Kent Kessler (bass), Michael Zerang (drums), Paal Nilssen-Love (drums). Part 1 of 2.
A great section of this exact concert with a little better audio quality is in the Broetzmann documentary "Soldier of the Road," if anyone has the chance to see it.
Even without this, it's an extraordinary doc (saw it this weekend in Buffalo, NY); Broetzmann actually elucidates his musical politics and his relationship to his own history and to some that aren't his own. Amazing for anyone interested in this formidable mess.
