Toronto Rock Win 2011 NLL Championship (Final Minute)

On Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Air Canada Centre, the Toronto Rock played host to the visiting Washington Stealth for the NLL Champion's Cup game! This game would serve as a rematch of the 2010 NLL Champion's Cup game where the host Stealth defeated the Rock 15-11 to win & hoist the Cup in front of their hometown fans in Washington State!

This year, Toronto played host, and were hoping to extract some revenge against the Stealth and win the Cup in front of their fans!

With one minute remaining in regulation, the Rock were anxiously nursing a 1 goal lead, with the Stealth pulling the goalie for an extra attacker, and pressuring the Rock in their own zone!

Fortunately, a key turnover gave the Rock possession of the ball, and they would go on to run down the clock, solidifying their championship with an 8-7 victory! This would be their 6th NLL Championship, their 1st NLL Championship in 6 years, and the final NLL game to be played by by retiring Rock goalie & game MVP, Bob "Whipper" Watson!
