This first time I tried this I crashed pretty badly. Now, with more practice I flew carefully around the school field and finally flew completely using the view from the MK. There are a few things to work on. I need a much better light seal around the goggles, they are swamped by external light. I don't seem to have a great range, after about 500 feet I start getting glitches in the video but that might be my low altitude.
The wind was 25 kmh and gusting which did not help the learning process. The white bar near the top of the frame is to provide a reference to the machines attitude. My first crash was caused in part by gyro drift that caused a big tilt. Since the camera lens always produces a large bend in the horizon I needed a way of knowing where I was pointing.
At the time of this video it was a basic FC 1.3 with firmware 0.69. Now I am using a FC ME firmware 0.76, still with 4 Holger ESCs.
