It's just called PIN not "Pin number"

you have to identify it as 'number' if someone asks for your pin in the context of the clip, it could be misread as a pin from a pin cushion. technically you don't need to say PIN number but nearly everyone does, except you obviously.

Lots of words have different meanings, anyway then that would be a PI number as PIN "number" is just wrong and lots of people just say PIN as it's stops you from sounding illiterate.
