Frittilaries and swallowtails take nectar from butterfly milkweeds (Asclepias tuberosa) growing wild along a sunny woodland roadside edge in Free Union, Virginia on June 20, 2008.
Compiled from clips taken with a Sony SR11 HD video camera by Rick Darke www.rickdarke.com
More about this in Darke's recent book, The Wild Garden: Expanded Edition (with William Robinson).

The narrow gravel lane parallels a small stream running about 10 feet below the roadbed, and this is the resting place of an abandoned Chrysler product. Though its two-tone green factory paint is taking on additional hues, they fit comfortably into the colors of the local landscape. See related video The Machine in the Garden No. 00001
