I guess he did OK. Realised he was too close to the beach and did the best he could to slow down and avoid hitting it at a high rate of speed. Could a been worse had he not slowed down.

The pilot looks like he was a direct transfer from Microsoft Flight Simulator to the controls of a real aircraft.
