"Intervention". Key word she uses at 2:20. "The mother was very cooperative and did everything we asked", 5:30. This birth is not in the mother's hands at all. Maybe her heart-rate would IMPROVE if you let her SIT UP from the beginning and let the mother orchestrate her own labor??? I'm for natural midwifery all the way.

So, why is she returned to her back when the fetal heart rate improves on her side?

can you define any further the topic about midwifery? I am still in vague about the topic though.

Medwives work in a Hospital/Birth centre setting, offering prenatal health care & health care for the Mother and Child during the birth & after the birth. Medwives care for newborns after the birth, in a Hospital. regardless if the Mother is available or not available to bond with her child. Midwives, assist in prenatal care & birth of a child. Midwives encourage a bond between infant & Mother, a Midwife encourages the Mother to care for her child as part of the Mother & Child bonding process.

VERY NICE VIDEO DOCUMENTATION, THANK
@DrSandmann Statistics don't lie. The United States hospitals have the highest infant mortality rate of any industrialized nation in the world. Only complicated deliveries should be attended by an OB. Low risk deliveries are safer delivered by midwives outside of the hospital. You can read this for yourself in the medical journals. Midwives have years of specialized training, whereas OBs are trained for c-sections, not normal birth. Midwives are by far the safest choice for non c-section births.

what's good in Midwives, they knew their responsibilities and scope. Medical Professionals are also a human and has weakness as well as imperfection.
Choosing a Midwife for Uncomplicated or Normal Delivery is a good idea. This way of giving birth which is assisted by Nurse-Midwives or Midwives would be less frightening for the Mother or Family. ^_^
