RUSSIAN ARMY-GREECE BROTHERS

A MESSAGE TO TURKEY,SCOPIA AND ALBANIA,,,,Greece and Russia go almost hand in hand in a number of issues which are currently in the Balkans, Europe and the world. This is a strong indication that national interests coincide in many respects, but Greece is no escaping from the European Union.
Previously the two countries had a common enemy, the Ottoman Empire, and it was no coincidence that the Friendly Society was established on Russian territory to organize the Revolution broke out in March 1821, 177 years ago.
Today the positions of Greece and Russia converge on key points of international policy issues such as Kosovo, Cyprus, FYROM, but there is sharing of close economic cooperation.
In recent, farewell interview before 1300 journalists in Moscow, Vladimir Putin made a statement linking the development in Cyprus and Kosovo, which would subscribe to both the Greek government and the opposition.
"We said, Putin to respect for fundamental principles of international law, under which the sovereignty of states and their territorial integrity. From this, we have the same approach as the Cyprus problem and the problem of Kosovo. There is a resolution that Serbia is entitled to territorial integrity. The same goes for Cyprus. It should be a single state. "
The vast majority of Kosovo Albanians may determine the future, while the vast majority of Greek Cypriots can not.
Russia with the Balkans had long been a special relationship. Here lived the southern Slavs, the brothers.
After the war, at the earliest opportunity, with the consent of the Russians, established a new federal Slavic state in the context of Yugoslavia, FYROM.
After the disintegration of Yugoslavia, Russia recognized the FYROM as an independent state, but not take long to realize that several Slavic countries joining NATO bases were used as missiles against the establishment.
So far Russia has no objection and agreed to obtain a composite name for FYROM that is the most equitable solution.
The agreement on the Burgas - Alexandroupolis, the supply of Russian oil to Greece have been brought even closer the two countries. But there is another problem, less obvious, which could bring Greece and Russia even closer.
Should Turkey join the European Union, along with millions of Muslims already living in France, England, Germany etc. Will achieve rising Muslim religion in second place in Europe, after the Catholics.
The European religious map will change, orthodox Christians in Europe will be much less than the Muslims. And only Russia closer to Europe could balance the new religious landscape raises the skyline.
Thus a number of reasons-economic, political and religious make-more than ever timely study of Greek-Russian relations, the current spring in relations between Greece and Russia in a world and in particular a rapidly changing Europe and it involves 40 - 50 years not to recognize.

Actually it was a coalition flotilla, and the spy things you say are conspiracy theories. Russia won'tfight for greeks because they see greece as one of the western block.

But it is not a big deal , because there won't be a turko-greek war in the near future. I mean you don't have to salute russia.

They did actually but russians wasn't going to give city to the greeks,it was an ottoman-russian war and the reason was bulgarian rebellion, nothing to do with greece. Furthermore they helped us against greeks in asiaminor war of 1920-22. Another time you know ?
